Local Lodging + Info

Bliss Ridge’s location is ideally central yet secluded -- our 87.5 acre farm is further surrounded by 1000s of acres of mountain wilderness.

The tiny village of Moretown (5 minutes down the road) offers a general store, post office, swimming holes and two churches...

Burlington, VT, our big city (and the location of the Burlington "International" Airport) is a 40 minute drive. Burlington sits on the shore of Lake Champlain.  Charming Church St. is a pedestrian area lined with shoppes, bars and restaurants.  You will also be able to find any of your package stores in the Burlington area, such as: Michaels Craft Supplies, Ben Franklin, David's Bridal, Men's Wearhouse, The Christmas Tree Shops, as well as a variety of smaller shops in the same categories.

Enterprise and Avis have desks at the airport and Thrifty and National are close by as well.

Our quaint Capitol city of Montpelier is a 20 minute drive from Bliss Ridge.  Montpelier is the home of Three Penny Taproom, our favorite drinking establishment.  Three Penny offers a vast selection of wildly interesting beers as well as a fantastic light fare menu which highlights peak local ingredients.  You will find a variety of restaurants, excellent bookstores and other shops, as well as a Saturday Farmer’s Market.

Waterbury is a 15-minute drive and features some cool bars and dining options such as The Alchemist Brew Pub, our other favorite local drinking and dining establishment.  They brew craft beer in the basement and specialize creative pub fare with and emphasis on local ingredients.  Main Street is lined with many other cafés as well and the famed Hen of the Wood is just down the road.

The town of Waitsfield is 15 minutes away and again offers dining and lodging establishments as well as two supermarkets, one fantastic Taco shop, The Mad Taco and a lovely bar-restaurant-theater, The Big Picture.

About 10 minutes further on down Route 100 is Warren, the home of Sugarbush Resort, our Relais & Chateaux, The Pitcher Inn, Blueberry Lake, The Warren Store and the East Warren Community Market.
